The proposal notified in G/TBT/N/CAN/393 (3 July 2013) was adopted on 12 February 2014. The following amendments have been made:
- a new standard of identify for icewine has been created under the Canada Agricultural Products Act;
- the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Regulations (CPLR) has been amended to include a definition of wine and to permit for single field of vision labelling for mandatory information on wine containers; and,
- minor text amendments to the Food and Drug Regulations and the CPLR have been made to allow a particular type size to be used on a specific size of bottle and to allow for the use of abbreviations in the alcohol content declaration have been made.
These regulatory amendments came into force on 29 January 2014.
